Plantings in Kids' Plot
We planted some abandoned strawberry plants, some flower seeds, and a mint transplant (albeit a sad one!) along the south edge of the kids' plot. Hopefully, these will add some interest and entertainment for the kids. If you'd like to help your kids watch out for the growing seedlings, that'd be great! Hopefully, some of them will survive to maturity....

We'll do our best. However, some of us have children who are quite young and so may have a hard time taking that much care in a play area. Part of what was nice about the kids area was that they could just play without constantly being told to be careful.
ReplyDeleteMy kids are definitely among the youngest and most rambunctious, too - I see the plantings as an experiment - if they don't survive it's no big deal. But if something does come up, it could be fun for the kids to pick and water at will. I probably should have said that kids can "be on the look out for sprouts." Of course, that's if my sons didn't already drown them out by their overzealous watering....
ReplyDeleteThanks -- good to hear. I just didn't want anyone to be really disappointed if some stuff didn't make it. My older kids will really enjoy the plantings -- I'm just not sure the little ones (two today) will be able to be as careful!
